Overview:
The best 5-day Sahara desert tour goes from Agadir to Merzouga. The voyage takes you to a number of interesting places where you can stop by and discover more about a range of subjects. Starting from Agadir, we take a guided excursion to Marrakech. We’ll also stop at the Atlas Studios and the largest Kasbah in Morocco. In addition, we’ll go to the Todgha Gorges and ride camels in the Merzouga Desert. We then go to the Anti-Atlas Mountains, which are home to Morocco’s longest river. Next, we’ll travel to Saffron and Carpets, where our five-day trip through Morocco will come to an end. Our trips all come with pick-up and drop-off options.
Day 1: Agadir to Marrakech:
Our five-day trip to the desert will begin in the city of Agadir. On the way to Marrakech, we’ll make stops to see the sights. A local guide will lead us on a guided tour of Marrakech. We’ll visit Sultan Ahmad al Mansur and his family’s graves at the Saadian Tombs, Menara Garden, and Bahia Place. We’ll also go to the Jemaa El-Fnaa plaza and the Koutoubia Mosque. There are street performances like snake charmers. After that, we’ll go to the Majorelle Garden. The latter is a vibrant garden filled with intriguing items and Andalusian art. Finally, we will drive you to your accommodation.
Day 2: Marrakech to Boumalne Dades:
On this day of our five-day desert adventure from Agadir, we will go to the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. On the way, we’ll pass through Tizi-N-Tichka. If you’re interested, we can stop by an Argan oil cooperative while there and take in some panoramic views. The UNESCO World Heritage Site Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah will be our next stop. As a caravan road, it connects Marrakech with the Sahara. That location, which draws filmmakers from all over the world, was used to film both Gladiator and Game of Thrones. After your tour of the kasbah, we’ll go to Ouarzazate to see the Atlas Studios.
The Rose Festival is held every May in the Rose Valley, where we will travel after that. We’ll travel to Skoura at the end of the day before continuing on to Dades, where we’ll spend the night.
Day 3: Boumalne Dades to Merzouga desert:
After breakfast, we’ll leave Agadir for the 5-day trip to the desert of Merzouga. Before that, we’ll stop at the Todgha Gorges on our way to Tinghir’s oasis. You will have opportunity to explore the valleys tucked amid cliffs that tower 300 meters high. The region attracts rock climbers from all around the world. After that, we’ll go to a Berber cooperative that makes garments in the town of Touroug. Then, we take a trip to Jorf to discover how palm trees are traditionally watered. After that, we’ll go to Erfoud.
At the conclusion of the day, we’ll get to the Merzouga Desert. After riding camels over the Erg Chebbi sand dunes, you’ll spend the night in real Berber tents. You may hear folks playing Berber music at night under a gorgeous starry sky.
Day 4: Merzouga to Ouarzazate:
On the fourth day of our five-day desert adventure from Agadir, we will return to Ouarzazate. You’ll ride your camels back to where you started to continue your tour after taking a shower and eating breakfast. We’ll stop in Rissani along the route to explore its ancient market and see what it has to offer. We’ll then travel to Alnif, Tazarine, and Nkob after that. Before heading to the Draa Valley, we’ll stop there for lunch. The latter is the longest river in Morocco. We’ll stop along the way to see the magnificent vistas of the Anti-Atlas Mountains.
