Overview:
Our 4-day desert tour from Agadir enables you to experience the best desert and city excursions in Morocco. We will go to the intriguing and historically significant cities of Taroudant, the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, and Ouarzazate.
The upcoming days will present a fantastic opportunity to explore Merzouga, one of the nation’s most beautiful locations, which is located in the Sahara desert. You can engage in several enjoyable activities there, such as quad biking, camping, and camel riding.
After the expedition, you will travel back to Agadir, passing via a number of fascinating locations like Rissani, the Draa Valley, and Agdez.
Day 1: Agadir to Ouarzazate:
On the first day of our four-day desert vacation from Agadir, we will travel to Ouarzazate. We will pass via a number of fascinating Berber settlements in the Sous Valley. We’ll have the chance to tour Taroudant, sometimes known as “Little Marrakech” by locals. The village was constructed by the Saadian dynasty as a military stronghold to stave against the Portuguese invasion. Before moving on to Taliouine and Taznakht, you will also tour the city’s ancient Medina.
Our next stop will be Ait Benhaddou’s Kasbah fortress. The latter is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the biggest Kasbah in Morocco. We’ll then take a drive to the movie city in Ouarzazate. It is a well-known location for filming because of its Atlas Studios. There have been numerous movies and television shows filmed there, such as Gladiator and Prison Break. At the end of the day, we will transport you to your accommodation after you have had the opportunity to explore their studios.
Day 2: Ouarzazate to Merzouga desert:
We’ll start our 4-day Sahara desert trips from Agadir to Merzouga after breakfast. Before getting to Todgha Gorges, we’ll pass via the Skoura and Rose Valley oasis regions. We’ll stop there for lunch and to admire the spectacular walls of the canyon. Then we will travel to Touroug, Erfoud, and Merzouga. As soon as you get in Merzouga, your camels will be waiting for you. To go to a traditional Berber tent for the night, you’ll ride them across the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. Locals will play music for you around the fire as you unwind and enjoy your time under a starry sky.
Day 3: Merzouga to Agdz:
On this day of your 4-day desert tour from Agadir, you will have a fantastic opportunity to see a stunning sunrise from the top of the dunes. You will then eat breakfast before we go out for rissani. We’ll walk through a typical market in this city, one that becomes crowded on days when the Souk is held. There are antiques available for purchase. Then we’ll travel through Alnif, Tazarrine, and Nkob on our way through the Draa Valley. You will have the choice to travel off-road over the old caravan route and kasbahs on your way to Agdez.
Day 4: Agdez to Agadir:
We travel from Agdz to Taznakht, a town renowned for its Berber gelims and carpets, after breakfast. We pass through scenic countryside and the Bouazzer mines en route. This area of the nation is more remote and less traveled. We will later travel through the Tizi-n-Ikhsane and Tizi-n-Tighatine passes to reach Agadir in the west. We take a break for lunch in the saffron-growing district of Taliouine, Morocco, where there is a wonderful, inexpensive museum devoted to the craft of saffron farming. The route takes us back to Taroudant in the late afternoon, from where we travel back to Agadir in the late afternoon along the frequently dry Souss River and countless argan trees that line the mountain slopes.
