2 days tour from Tangier to Chefchaouen

Overnight in Chaouen.

Chefchaouen was found in 1471 by the Jews and the Moors fleeing at the Rif mountains. Some people say they pain it with the blue as the color of the sky, others say to protect the houses from the mosquitos. Therefore, we don’t know exactly the right answer. There are many things to visit here. Firstly, the best thing to do in the early morning is to hike the Rif mountains for the sunrise and an overview of the city. Secondly, after hiking in the mountains, just as you step in the city, there is a small river called Ras El Ma coming from the Akchour waterfalls.

Thirdly, at the center of Chaouen lies the Kasbah Ethnographic Museum. Here, you can find information about the region. Also, there is a small art gallery and some gardens. The west side of the Kasbah is the plaza or Place Outa El Hamam. Here, there are many restaurants and cafes, it’s where people come to relax as it’s a square where locals entertain with music.
