Overview:
With our 1 week Morocco itinerary, you will explore the blue city of Chefchaouen and Fes, the cultural city. Then, we will take you across the Atlas Mountains to the Sahara desert. There, you will experience the camel ride and camping at our Berber tents. Afterward, we will take you on an adventure to explore the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou and the red city of Marrakech.
Day 1: Tangier to Fes:
We will start our one week in Morocco itinerary from Tangier towards the cultural city, Fes. There are many things we will visit and pass through. To start with, we will pass through Tetouan, the dove white dove. Then, we will arrive in Chefchaouen, the blue pearl, it takes almost 3h driving from Tangier. Chefchaouen is a small city. Therefore, we will visit it walking in 2 or 3 hours. Firstly, we will discover the Kasbah at Outaa Lahmam square. Secondly, we will walk to Ras El Ma and around the city. Later, we will drive to Fes after we have lunch in the Rif Mountains. Your accommodation will be booked in Fes if you want to include it.
Day 2: Fes guided tour:
On this day, we will discover Fes with a local guide from there. To start with, you will visit the old Medina, the entrance is called the blue gate. From there, there are two main streets where people shop and it’s their main souk or souq. Also, there are many attractions to explore. Firstly, you will visit the Uuniversity of Al Qarawiyyin , the oldest and still functionning acording to Unesco. Secondly, you will visit the Madrassas “school” of Al Attarine and Bou Inania. Thirdly, wee will walk to Chouara Tanneries, a place where they make leather. Then, we will head towards Mirinid tombs and Borj nord. Not to mention, we will also visit one of the 12 king’s palaces and Dar El batha, a former royal palace.
Day 3 : Fes to Merzouga Sahara:
Merzouga is the highlight of our Morocco 1 week itinerary. Therefore, we will head there for the camel ride and camping at Berber tents. Before, there are many things to visit between Fes and the Sahara. To start with, we will stop to visit the statue of the Atlas lion in Ifrane. Then, we will visit the forest of cedar trees at Azrou. There, we will feed the Barbary macaque monkeys and take some pictures. After that, we will cross the high and middle Atlas Mountains to arrive at the panoramic view of Ziz valley, the fruits of the dates river. Eventually, we will arrive at Merzouga, where you will do the camel ride and overnight in Berber tents.
Day 4: Merzouga to Boumaln Dades:
You will do the camel ride back again to the car. Then, we will drive you to Dades Gorges. However, there are some places that we will visit. Firstly, we will drive across Rissani, the capital city of Tafilalet. Secondly, we will stop at the wells of an old system of irrigation. Thirdly, we will visit the canyons of Todgha, they are rocks about 300m height with a thermal water passing. Later, we will take you to a hotel in Dades after we visit the curves of Tissdrine and the monkey toes mountains.
Day 5: Dades to Marrakech:
On the 5th day, we will keep our Morocco one week itinerary to Marrakech. Before that, we will visit the valley of rose flowers at Mgouna. Then, we will visit Ouarzazate, Ouallywood. There, we will visit one of the museums of the atlas studios, where they make many parts of movies. Thereafter, we will discover the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, where they made parts of movies like Lawrence of Arabia and Gladiator.
After lunch, we will drive across the high Atlas mountains. There, we will make a stop at the point of 2260m and at the cooperative of argan oil. Eventually, we will arrive at Marrakech late afternoon and take you to your accommodation.
Day 6: Marrakech guided tour:
Our one-week itinerary in Morocco includes two local guided tours, at Fes and Marrakech. Therefore, at Marrakech, we will visit the gardens of Majorelle and Menara. Next, we will take a look at the Koutoubia mosque and have a walk in the square of Jamaa El fnna. After that, we will take you to visit Bahia and El Badi Palace. Then, we will visit Saadian tombs and one of the king’s palaces.
Day 7: Marrakech to Casablanca:
Our Morocco one week itinerary will be over after we take you to discover Casablanca. We will start by driving from Marrakech on the highway. About 3h, we will arrive at Casablanca Hassan II mosque, the only one where none Muslims can enter. Then, we can drive you to your accommodation or to the airport.
