6 days tour from Marrakech to Merzouga

So the first day of our 6 days tour from Marrakech to Merzouga desert itinerary, you are going to have a tour guide taking you around the city of Marrakech. Usually, we start by visiting the Majorelle garden which is one of the best and most beautiful gardens in Morocco. Right after, we will be heading to another beautiful garden in the city, Menara garden. This latter is located in the west of Marrakech near the High Atlas mountains. Definitely, it offers beautiful and charming views for both tourists and the citizens of the city that most of the time head there.

In a while, we will be taking you to Bahia Palace which is one of the interesting monuments that shows the beautiful Moroccan architecture. After that, we will go on a visit to many other different places. Finally, in the evening, you are going to explore the beautiful square of Jamaa el Fna.

Along this pass live many different Berber tribes their main income is from tourists, Argan oil, or having a number of the herd. As these places are famous for producing Argan oil, we will take you to visit some cooperatives to see the traditional ways of producing cosmetic products. Thereafter, we will continue our way through the High Atlas mountains and Tizi Ntichka pass.

On the tip of the High Atlas mountains, we will stop by the phenomenal fortress of Ait Benhaddou. Here, you are going to have the chance to walk through the river of “Ouad El Maleh” in order to reach the Kasbah. Clearly, this village is a great example of real Moroccan clay architecture with its great walls and high towers.

Ait Benhaddou is listed as a Unesco world heritage site in the year of 1987. Next, after a while, we are going to move to the beautiful city of Ouarzazate. The Hollywood of Morocco as many calls it is one of the important cities in the Southeast, as it has an international airport and the biggest station for solar energy in the world. Moreover, Ouarzazate also is known for being a perfect site for shooting movies and series. In this city lies two of the main Studios in Morocco to shoot movies and also rent the materials for that. Finally, we will head to Boumalne Dades where we usually spend the night.

Secondly, we will leave heading to the Sahara desert, on the way we will pass by many beautiful Berber villages and the cities of Tinegher and Tinjedad. Finally, we will arrive at the last destination today. The fabulous golden dunes of the desert and the camel ride are usually seen as the highlight of all Morocco tours. Upon our arrival, the camels and the camel drivers will be waiting to make your desert experience unforgettable. You will take the camels and drive crossing the dunes, on the way they would make stops and take your pictures on the camel and surrounded by the desert.

In a while, we will have arrived at the desert camp. Usually, we arrive early in the evening, so when touring around the camp and exploring it, most tourists go climbing the dunes to catch the sunset. Moreover, you can also take the sandboard and go skiing. Later, when, the night arrives, you will be served a traditional Moroccan meal. At the same time, our camp team will be preparing themselves to play drums and entertain you. After you have dinner, you will be going outside under the stars around the campfire listening to Berber music.

Firstly, you are going to visit the Berber Nomads that are still living in tents. Most of them are about 7 to 10 members living on what nature offers them. Their main income is from erasing goats and sheep and selling them in the near cities like Erfoud and Rissani.

Definitely, the main thing that characterizes these people is the hospitality and generosity that they have in their hearts. after a quiet stay, we will be leaving for one of the best panoramas in Merzouga to catch the desert in a beautiful view, they call it “Galb El Nas” or the people’s heart in English. Next, we will be heading to a famous mine of kohl in the area, it was once a french property and they used to use it and export its outcomes to their country.

Finally, on the tour, you will be visiting the Gnawa or Gnaoua people known for having a Gnaoua house in the center of Khamlia village. Here, you will spend some time discovering their lifestyle and unique music. Above all the tour offers more things to discover such as the Oases in Hassi Labied.
