Welcome to Morocco. You will be met by your English-speaking private driver at the Med V airport, Casablanca. The driver will give a short review of your New Year tour. You will then visit Casablanca, Morocco’s most significant commercial capital.

Enjoy the magnificent architecture, the Hassan II Mosque, gardens, and terrace cafes that overlook the Atlantic Coast.

After a day of exploration, relax in the comfort of the Riad or Hotel, where a delicious dinner awaits.

Day 2: Rabat » Chefchaouen [252 Km]

CHEFCHAOUEN

Today, we are driving to Chefchaouen. Before we reach the blue city, we will stop at a few places on our Grand Tour of Morocco. Then, we will spend the night in an authentic riad within the Medina.

Day 3: Chefchaouen » Volubilis » Meknes » Fes [253 km]

We drive to Meknes today for a guided tour. As we drive through the rolling hills, we’ll visit the impressive Roman ruins at Volubilis. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is the best preserved Roman ruins in this part of Northern Africa.

As you gaze up at the marble pillars and marvel at the mosaic floors, your local guide will tell you about the Roman Empire. We then continue to Meknes, leaving the Roman Empire.

After lunch, we begin our tour with a guided visit to the Bab Mansour, built in the 18th century by Sultan Moulay Ismail. This is the ornate gate of Meknes, the imperial city.

Our 10-day desert tour continues with a visit to the Mausoleum of Moulay-Ismail, a small yet striking mausoleum. We then pass the entrance to the Meknes Royal Palace before reaching the colossal Heri Es Souani of Moulay Ismail, once the personal stable and granary for his 12,000 horses. As we bid farewell to Meknes, we set our sights on Fes, where a delightful dinner and a restful overnight stay await.

Day 4: Fes Sightseeing Tour with local guide

royal palace of morocco

After breakfast in your Riad, you will start your tour. The medina is one of the largest walled cities in the world, dating back to the 9th Century.

Visit the Royal Palace Gate, the Jewish headquarters named “Mellah,” built in the 16th Century.

The medina is a vibrant hub of artisans’ quarters, each with unique charm. We visit the wedding adornment and brass and copper souks. Carpenters, butchers, and bakers have a particular medina area. The famous Fes Tannery is a fantastic place to visit. From a 360-degree view, we can see the men at work dyeing and treating the hides.

Visit Al Karaouine University, founded in the 9th Century, one of many Medersas. Breakfast is included in your overnight stay at the Riad.

Day 5: Fes » Ifrane » Cedar Forest » Midelt » Ziz Valley » Merzouga [460 km]

We continue our 10-day Morocco tour, starting in Casablanca today, as we depart Fes for Erfoud. En route, you will pass through a picturesque forest of cedars and cross the Middle Atlas Mountain Range to the mineral-mining city of Midelt, where lunch is planned. The journey continues through the Ziz Valley, known for its length and palm trees.

Along the road are countless ksars—small villages with individual houses. We then travel to Erfoud, which is famous for its fossils and date festival. After approximately 7 hours, you will reach your destination, the Merzouga Desert. You will spend the night and dinner in a Kasbah.

Day 6: Merzouga » Rissani » Merzouga » Erg Chebbi dunes (Merzouga) [45 km]

Hollywood has used this area to film films like The Last Temptation of Christ or Jewel of the Nile for many years. Enjoy the natural beauty of the Todra Gorges, where water springs run between the rock faces.

You can take a short walk to explore the Todra Gorge, which has grey and pink rock walls. Continue through the Dades Valley. We spend the night at a Kasbah.

Day 8: Dades Valley » Rose valley » Ouarzazate » Marrakech [326 km]

Day 9: Marrakech City Tour With Local Guide

MARRAKECH MEDINA

The Saadian Tombs in Marrakech date from when Sultan Ahmad al-Mansur ruled. The tombs, discovered in 1917, were restored by Beaux-Arts. The mausoleum contains the graves of approximately sixty descendants of the Saadian Dynasty, which originated in the valley of the Draa River.

Then, you continue to the famous Jemaa el Fna Square. Here, you will find a variety of foods, snake charmers, local musicians, and fortune-tellers. The Jemaa el Fna is the center of the old Marrakesh. It’s unique. Also, you will walk through the souks to see hundreds of handmade crafts. Riad breakfast is included in the night.
