After lunch, we begin our tour with a guided visit to the Bab Mansour, built in the 18th century by Sultan Moulay Ismail. This is the ornate gate of Meknes, the imperial city.
Our 10-day desert tour continues with a visit to the Mausoleum of Moulay-Ismail, a small yet striking mausoleum. We then pass the entrance to the Meknes Royal Palace before reaching the colossal Heri Es Souani of Moulay Ismail, once the personal stable and granary for his 12,000 horses. As we bid farewell to Meknes, we set our sights on Fes, where a delightful dinner and a restful overnight stay await.

The medina is a vibrant hub of artisans’ quarters, each with unique charm. We visit the wedding adornment and brass and copper souks. Carpenters, butchers, and bakers have a particular medina area. The famous Fes Tannery is a fantastic place to visit. From a 360-degree view, we can see the men at work dyeing and treating the hides.
Visit Al Karaouine University, founded in the 9th Century, one of many Medersas. Breakfast is included in your overnight stay at the Riad.

The journey continues through the Ziz Valley, known for its length and palm trees.
Along the road are countless ksars—small villages with individual houses. We then travel to Erfoud, which is famous for its fossils and date festival. After approximately 7 hours, you will reach your destination, the Merzouga Desert. You will spend the night and dinner in a Kasbah.
