Overview:

With our tours from Fes, you will enjoy a 5 days journey to the Sahara desert of Erg Chebbi and end in Marrakech The first day, our staff will come at the arrival time to pick you up and transfer you to your accommodation. The following day, you will visit all the important attractions of Fes. For instance, the Madrasa Bou Inania, the Chouara Tanneries, and the blue gate of Boujloud.

On the third day of our tour, we will drive to Ifrane. Famous as little Switzerland. After that, drive all the way to the Sahara desert of Erg Chebbi. Before arriving, you will enjoy the far-reaching views of the Atlas mountains, Ziz valley, and more.

When arrived at Merzouga desert, you will enjoy the comfortable camel ride through the sand dunes of Merzouga. Your camel leader will get you the best photos of the sunset and the sunrise on the camels. After a 1hour and a half camel trekking , we will arrive at the beautiful well-equipped camp to spend the night.

On the fourth day, we will start from the camp to arrive at Boumalne Dades. A place attracted tourists by its Gorges, the snake road, and the valley.

Eventually, we will conclude the 5 days tour from Fes to Marrakech with a transfer to the red city of Marrakech.

Day 1: Arrival and pick up service to the accommodation:

On the first day of our 5 days tour from Fes to Marrakech, you are going to be picked up at the arrival time. Your driver/guide will come to the airport and drive to your local accommodation in Fes. In the hotel/Riad you will enjoy the fresh tea to restore from the flight and relax.

Day 2: Visiting Fes attractions:

Our one day visit of Fes during the 5 days tour from Fes to Marrakech will start in the morning from your accommodation. To start with, your local Moroccan travel guide will come to pick you up to visit the Madrasa Bou Inania. an old architectural school founded in AD 1351–56 by Abou Inan Faris. One of the religious monuments in Fes that non-Muslims can enter. It is Also known as a place where they taught kids the Quran and other religious things.

Secondly, we will visit the Fes El Bali, translated as the old city of Fes. There you can find most of the local Riads/hotel. To get there, you can take the main gate “Bab Boujloud”. The place is home to several famous Souks and old Moroccan monuments. For example, the mosque of Al-Andalus, Medersa Sehrij, and more.

Thirdly, you and the guide will ahead to visit the Chouara tanneries, famous as the largest in the cultural city. Home to many handmade leather products. The artisans paint the leather using only special spices and get the wholes dry by the end of the day. To get the best views, it is recommended to get at the nearby rooftops owned by the shop’s owners.

Another visit is going to be for the Jewish Quarter or Mellah as it’s called. A very famous place situated in Fes El Jedid, it expresses how was the Jewish community in Fes by its early 20th-century houses.

As a conclusion, we will visit the ceramic artistry of Fes, a place where you can watch Men & Women chip mosaic tile pieces, paint fanciful designs on plates.

Day 3: From Fes to Merzouga & camel trekking & night at the camp:

On the third day of our Fes to Marrakech 5 days desert tour, you will be picked up from the hotel/Riad in the morning. A journey to some of Morocco’s special destinations. For a start, we will cross the Middle Atlas mountains together and enjoy the green agricultural lands to arrive at Ifrane. The latter is called little Switzerland by the Moroccans. The reason is that it is the finest city in Africa and the eighth worldwide and it is characterized by the triangle rooftops. Not only this but, it is the coldest in Morocco. During our visit to this city, we will see the famous city’s garden. It has a popular white lion statue most of the time visited by tourists.

During the second world war, Ifrane was a camp for soldiers. That is to say, the reason behind the carved lion is a German soldier that wanted his freedom.

After visiting Ifrane, we will continue to the magnificent Ziz valley. A valley with a passing river for about 200kms long. It attracts by its palm grooves thousands of tourists to discover how they run the water system for all those palm trees. It is also a great place for some desert and green lands shots. Not to mention, they consider it the biggest dates source in the region of Draa Tafilalet

Subsequently, we will pass by Erfoud to arrive at Merzouga desert where they will welcome you with a warming tea. After relaxing a bit, we will drive to where you will ride the lovely camels through Erg Chebbi sand dunes. After 1 hour and a half, we will arrive at the camp where you can try different activities.

As a conclusion, you will enjoy the campfire and the Berber music show under the stars.

Day 4: Merzouga desert to Boumalne Dades via Tinghir:

The fourth day of our Fes to Marrakech 5 days desert tour via Merzouga desert will start after breakfast at the hotel or at the camp. A journey to the lovely Boumalne fades. Before we reach there, we will visit the souk of Rissani. Famous for the festival of donkeys whenever it is the day of the market. It is also where the caravans coming from Mauritania, Southern Mali used to stay and take breaks. Next, we will drive to visit Fezna’s Irrigation system, a land of wells of water passing to the agricultural lands. Our visit to the place will be to discover the underground water’s canals and how they transfer it. Thereafter, we will visit the Todgha Gorges, enchanted many climbers to come to try this activity there.

It is a limestone river canyons about 250m high and characterized by underground water year-round. In addition, citizens from Tinghir go there for family picnics and celebrations.

After visiting the canyons, we will continue to Boumalne Dades to spend the night at a local hotel with views of the valley.

Day 5: Boumalne Dades to Marrakech via Ouarzazate:

Our Fes to Marrakech 5 days tour via Merzouga desert’s last day will start after breakfast at Boumalne Dades. To begin with, we will see the city of Kalaat Megouna, famous for the name of the capital of Roses. Every year, they organize a festival to celebrate the seasons of roses. More importantly, it reached 500 000 people in 2015. Even taxis in the cities are painted in pink. It is optional for you to visit one of the cooperatives for shopping purposes.

After visiting the city of roses, we will resume the tour to ascertain the Atlas studios of Ouarzazate. Many movies were shot there, such as the Gladiator, Alexander, the Message, and Cleopatra.

We will continue to reach the Gorgeous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. They call it also the Ksar of Glaoua, founded by Ben Haddou in the eighteenth century. The Glaoui family, personally Thami El Glaoui was the leather of the tribe who made the Kasbah.

It is made out of wheat bales and mud that can afford the cruel weather.

To visit the Kasbah, you need to take the stairs where you will meet some special painters. Further, they use indigo and green or black and then heat it to get a gorgeous painting, tourists also take it as a souvenir.

When talking about Ait Ben Haddou, we should mention the movies that were shot there. For example, the TV series Game of Thrones and Lawrence of Arabia…

After visiting the Kasbah, we will cross the High Atlas mountains in an altitude of 2260m at Tizi Ntichka and visit one of Argan’s cooperatives.

Eventually, get to Marrakech where our Fes to Marrakech 5 days tour ends.
